A direct booking line for one vetted, insured moving company working across Cambridge, Kitchener and Guelph.

Movers Cambridge is a booking line. It is not a moving company, and it is not a directory that sells your enquiry to a list of movers who then all call you. It connects to one local moving company with its own crew, trucks and equipment, working across Cambridge — Galt, Preston and Hespeler, Blair and Branchton, the subdivisions off Franklin Boulevard and in north Hespeler, and the villages of North Dumfries — plus Kitchener, Waterloo and Guelph along the 401, Highway 8 and Highway 6.

Moving attracts a particular kind of selling. A phone quote that doubles on the day. A deposit that is not refundable for any reason. Two people sent to a Galt three-storey that needed four. A crew that has never seen a turning staircase with a low ceiling. A price that did not mention travel time, stairs or "heavy item fees" until the invoice. Anyone who has moved more than once in Cambridge has a story.

The point of this site is a straight line to a mover who asks the right questions before quoting, looks at the stairs and the basement, puts the crew size, hourly rate, minimum, travel allowance and waiting-time terms in writing, works around a shift schedule when that is what the household needs, and sends the crew the job actually needs.

What we will not do: publish reviews we do not have, invent a rating or a star count, claim a founding year or a number of moves completed, quote a fixed price on a website, or sell your phone number. This site is new. It says what it can do and nothing more.

What the crew handles

• Local house moves: detached, semis, bungalows and century homes across Cambridge, with stairs and steps planned before the day
• Apartment and townhouse moves: walk-ups, complexes with shared lanes, condos with elevator bookings
• Senior and downsizing moves: packing, moving, placing and setting up at a condo, townhouse or retirement residence, at the family's pace
• Office and small business moves: evenings and weekends, labelled, taken apart and rebuilt, open on Monday
• Loading and unloading labour for rental trucks, trailers and containers

What it does not handle

Junk removal and cleanouts are a different service; the crew moves what you are keeping and does not haul away what you are not, which matters most on a downsizing move where most of the house is staying behind. Storage is not provided, though delivery to a unit you have rented is normal. Long-distance and interprovincial moves are a different kind of operation under different rules and are not booked here. Machinery that needs rigging or a crane is a different trade. Movers are not a licensed trade in Ontario; what you should expect instead is liability insurance and current WSIB coverage, both of which this crew carries and can show. Street and parking rules on the day belong to the City of Cambridge, waste rules to the Region of Waterloo, and the rules on estimates, deposits and contracts to Consumer Protection Ontario. You will be told when a job belongs to someone else rather than sold something that will not fit on the truck.

How this works

When you call 226-242-2830 or send the form, your details go straight to the moving company's dispatcher. They ask about the load, the houses at both ends, stairs and steps, the basement and garage, parking, dates and any shift-work constraint, usually with a short video walkthrough for anything bigger than an apartment, then quote the move in writing with the crew size, rate, minimum and travel allowance stated. The crew works under the company's own insurance. Your information is not sold, not shared with a list of competing movers, and there is no markup added to your bill for the introduction.

What we won't do

• Publish reviews we didn't earn. When we have them, they'll be real ones with names.
• Quote a firm price before someone has seen the job.
• Send anyone into your property who we would not have in our own.
