North and east of the old town, from the 1990s to the present, Hespeler has grown into one of the largest areas of new housing in the Region, with subdivisions running up toward Townline Road and out to the edge of the city: big two-storey houses with double garages, finished basements and driveways a truck backs straight into. The townhouse complexes in between, around Hespeler Road and the 401, bring shared lanes and visitor parking a truck cannot use. A move in old Hespeler is planned around the stair and the front step; a move in north Hespeler is planned around volume, with a four-person crew and sometimes a second truck for a house that has been lived in hard for fifteen years. Hespeler sits right on the 401 at Hespeler Road and Townline, and moves to Guelph up Highway 6, to Kitchener along Highway 8, and in from Milton and Mississauga along the 401 are all normal runs with the drive time stated on the quote.
